GlobaleSIM for AI Agents

Travel eSIMs your AI assistant can find and recommend

3٬871 plans across 182 destinations in one machine-readable catalog. An agent matches the trip, hands over a checkout link with the exact option preselected, and the traveler reviews and pays here.

The Global eSIM covers 148 countries on one plan; every other destination is served by a local or regional plan. The catalog lists both coverage sets explicitly.

The traveler always approves and pays. AI agents can recommend and prepare a purchase, but cannot complete a transaction on behalf of the traveler. Final review, customer details and payment always take place on globalesim.app. Prices are always calculated and validated by globalesim.app - agents cannot set, override or modify prices.

Using ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant?

Paste this prompt, fill in your trip, and your assistant will pick the right plan from our live catalog:

I'm traveling to {destinations} for {days} days and need about {GB} GB of data. Fetch https://globalesim.app/ar/api/agent-catalog (JSON, no auth) and follow its matching_rule: recommend a plan only if its coverage includes ALL my destinations. Give me the plan's checkout_url and a one-line summary of price, data, validity, and exactly what voice/SMS is included.

Find a plan

This search runs on the same public catalog agents use — same data, same matching rule, same links.

Add every country you will visit — one plan must cover them all.

How a purchase works

  1. Discover products

    The agent fetches the catalog, applies the matching rule, and picks the plan that covers the whole trip.

  2. Request a quote

    It sends only the product id and the plan sku. We read the live price from the store and return a signed, time-limited payment link.

  3. Present to the traveler

    The agent shows the traveler the plan and price in plain words and offers the link. The traveler decides.

  4. Human checkout

    The link opens globalesim.app with exactly that plan in the cart. The traveler enters their details, reviews and pays. The eSIM arrives by email.

End-to-end example

"I am flying to Italy and France for ten days, about 2 GB is enough, no calls." The agent finds one plan covering both countries (Europe, 2 GB, 10 days) in the catalog, then asks for a quote:

Response

{
  "quote_id": "q_d15d00b545",
  "plan": { "name": "Europe", "data_gb": 2, "validity_days": 10,
            "voice_minutes": 0, "sms": "none" },
  "quantity": 1,

  "message_for_traveler": "Europe eSIM, 2GB, 10 days, data only - 7.50 USD.
    Open the link to review and pay on globalesim.app."
}

The agent shows the traveler message_for_traveler and the pay_url. Opening the link puts exactly that plan in the cart on globalesim.app; the traveler pays there. If the price changes first, or the link expires after 30 minutes, it refuses and the agent requests a fresh quote.

Field reference

coverage_summary
Top level. The two coverage sets: global_esim (destinations of the Global eSIM) and local_or_regional_only (destinations served only by a local or regional plan), plus the full union.
matching_rule
Top level. The rule to follow: recommend a product only if ALL requested destinations are in its coverage list.
coverage
Per product. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes the product serves. A traveler's whole trip must fit this list.
plans[]
Per product. One entry per purchasable option — everything listed is displayed and buyable right now; unavailable options are never included.
data_gb / validity_days
Plan data allowance in GB and how many days it stays valid after first network connection.
voice_minutes / sms
0 minutes = data only (no calls, no SMS, no number). Minutes include a dedicated US/UK VoIP number with calls via the GlobaleSIM app; sms is "receive_only" on that number, otherwise "none". Never ambiguous.
price / price_currency
The displayed site price in USD — identical on the product page and at checkout (the site may convert for display).
checkout_url
Opens the product page with this exact data size and voice option preselected. Use it when you cannot call the quote API.
pay_url / approval_required
Returned by the quote API. pay_url puts exactly the quoted plan in the cart on globalesim.app and expires after 30 minutes; approval_required is always true - the traveler pays, you cannot.
number_prefix / agent
Quote request fields. number_prefix (US or GB) is required for plans with voice minutes only. agent.name is optional and only lets us count purchases per assistant.

Frequently asked questions

When does the plan validity start?

Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at your destination — not at purchase. You can buy ahead of your trip and install the eSIM before you fly.

When do I install and activate the eSIM?

Installation instructions and a QR code arrive by email right after payment. Install the eSIM while you still have internet access (for example at home or on hotel Wi-Fi), then enable it when you arrive at your destination.

Can I top up a plan?

Yes. Existing eSIMs can be topped up with more data from the top-up page — no new eSIM installation needed.

Does my phone need to support eSIM?

Yes. Your device must be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Most recent iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models qualify — see the installation guides for the full device list and setup steps.

What exactly do voice minutes and SMS include?

Plans with voice minutes include a dedicated US (+1) or UK (+44) VoIP phone number, and calls are made through the GlobaleSIM app rather than the device's standard dialer. SMS on that number is receive-only, and receiving verification codes is not guaranteed for every service. Plans with 0 minutes are data-only: no calls, no SMS, no phone number. Every plan in the catalog states this explicitly in its voice_minutes and sms fields.

Can an AI agent complete the payment?

No — by design. The agent can recommend a plan and prepare the purchase: it asks us for a quote and receives a payment link. The traveler opens it, reviews the exact plan and price on globalesim.app, enters their details and pays there. Agents cannot set prices and have no way to charge a card. Installation instructions are emailed after payment.

What happens if the price changes or the link is old?

Payment links last 30 minutes. If the price of the plan changes, or the plan stops being available, before the traveler opens the link, the link refuses and the traveler asks the assistant for a new quote. The price is always read from our store, never from the agent.
